Peter Giese, Head of the SAP Open Source Program Office, will provide the audience an introduction into how NeoNephos & ApeiroRA contribute to strengthen digital sovereignty through interoperable, open-source cloud-to-edge software and infrastructure.

Our talk is part of the mini-track Fostering Resiliency in the Digital Public Infrastructure hosted by RISE, OFE, and PwC.

Abstract: This talk introduces the ApeiroRA project and the NeoNephos Foundation—two complementary initiatives born from the EU’s IPCEI-CIS program to strengthen digital sovereignty through interoperable cloud-edge infrastructure. While rooted in Europe’s strategic autonomy goals, both are fully open source and globally accessible. Their modular, cloud-native frameworks provide a path for any region to build resilient, sovereign digital systems—reflecting our belief that openness, transparency, and shared innovation are the strongest foundations for digital sovereignty.
